The Volta Regional Museum was originally the Office of the Regional House of Chiefs before it was acquired by the Government of Ghana in 1967. It officially opened to the public in 1973 as an essential institution for cultural preservation and education.
Visitors to the museum can expect to see a variety of exhibits, including the Chair of State used by the last colonial governor of the Volta Region, local art, tribal symbols, traditional pottery, and displays celebrating Ewe and Ashante religious traditions.

The Volta Regional Museum is open from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. We are also open on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The museum is closed on Sundays and public holidays.
